The Generate Test Data endpoint returns realistic synthetic data based on the defined schema. This includes various fields such as names, emails, addresses, and more, structured according to the specified tables and relationships.
The response data is organized in a JSON format, with each table represented as a key containing an array of objects. Each object corresponds to a row of generated data, with fields matching the schema definition.
Users can customize their data requests by specifying parameters such as table definitions, column types, row counts, and relationships between tables in the request body.
The List Field Types endpoint provides a comprehensive list of over 50 built-in field types available for data generation, including uuid, email, phone, address, and price.
Users can utilize the returned data by selecting a pre-built schema template that matches their use case, such as e-commerce or CRM, to quickly generate relevant test data without needing to define the schema from scratch.
The MockHero API generates synthetic data based on predefined schemas and templates, ensuring that the data is realistic and relevant for testing purposes, rather than sourced from real-world datasets.
Typical use cases include seeding development and staging databases, populating CI/CD test fixtures, loading test environments with realistic data, and conducting QA testing to ensure application functionality.
Data accuracy is maintained through schema awareness, which ensures that generated data adheres to defined relationships and constraints, along with the use of deterministic seeds for reproducibility in testing scenarios.
